தமிழ் · Tanglish
Tamil AI voice agent for real business calls
Tamil is the language Decibyl was built for first, and it is the one where the gap between an Indic-trained stack and a general multilingual one is most audible to a native speaker. Tanglish — Tamil verbs with English nouns — is the everyday register in Chennai and Coimbatore, not a corner case.
The hard part
Meaning lives in the suffixes
Tamil is agglutinative: a single word can carry what English spreads across a clause, with tense, person, case and negation stacked onto a root. A transcriber that expects word boundaries in the European sense mis-segments the sentence before any language model gets a chance to reason about it, and the errors land inside the meaning rather than at the edges of it.
Tanglish is the default
A caller mixing Tamil and English inside one clause is speaking normally, and the agent is built to expect that rather than to recover from it.
Set in a real Tamil face
Noto Sans Tamil, self-hosted. IBM ships a Plex Tamil cut but Google Fonts does not serve it, so we use the best Tamil family we can actually self-host rather than letting the browser guess.
Regional stack, dearer a minute
Tamil runs on the regional speech stack, which costs more per minute than Hindi or English. Our pricing shows included calling as a range for exactly this reason.

Each of these pages covers the full language mix a caller there actually uses.
Questions
Tamil on a real phone line
Does the agent really speak Tamil, or is it translating?
It speaks it. Tamil runs on a speech stack trained on Indian languages rather than a general multilingual model with Tamil in its list, and Tanglish — mixing with English inside a sentence — is the default register rather than a mode you switch on.
Can one agent handle Tamil and other languages on the same number?
Yes, and it should. The agent does not ask a caller to choose a language before it will listen, and it follows a caller who switches mid-call. All seven Indian languages are live on the same line, plus any language the underlying voice stack supports.
What does a Tamil call cost?
Tamil runs on the regional speech stack, which costs more per minute than Hindi or English — so the same credit buys fewer Tamil minutes, and our pricing page shows included calling as a range rather than one number for exactly that reason. Plans start at ₹2,999/month with the number and telephony included. Exclusive of 18% GST.
Is the call recorded and transcribed?
Every call, with a QA score on all of them rather than a sample. Data is resident in India by default — AWS Mumbai, ap-south-1 — with US and EU available for teams serving customers outside India.
